Programme Outcome:B. Ed P01Critical Thinking As a teacher has to play the roles of a friend, a philosopher and a guide and that too in certain unpredictable situations—inside and outside the schools—s/he has to nurture critical thinking through the course so that s/he can deal with such situations efficiently and to the best satisfaction of the learners. For example, if a learner can not understand the language of a certain question the teacher has to refocus the language in his own unique way, as taught through the component Simulated Teaching in Course 1.2.3 (). P02 Effective Communication A teacher’s performance is appreciated keeping in mind his/her communication inside the classroom in an effected way. Teaching is a dialogic due to the fact that there is a bipolar communication between the teacher and the learners. To let the teachers hone the skill of communication student-teachers get acquainted with the usage of different types of learning resources and also discipline-specific language as can be envisaged in Course 1.1.4 (Language across the Curriculum). P03 Social Interaction A school, the future field of activities of the student-teachers,is supposed to be a miniature of the society and socialization of the learners is one of the primary objectives of teacher-education programme. Without proper socialization a learner will remain introvert and will not be even able to consult even his neighbourregarding any problem. Hence, different programmes like Group Learning, Participation in Community Based Activities, etc. are arranged especially during School Internship in this regard. P04 Effective Citizenship Education is a primary factor of making the citizens effective. Hence, the action regarding making the teacher-trainee acquainted with the constitutional provisions of education, policy framework in this regard and acting accordingly, as can be found in Course 1.1.2 () is taken care of. P05 Ethics The ethics of teaching should conform to the child psychology. It speaks of how a teacher has to react to a right or wrong answer of a young learner maintaining his/her autonomy of the self and so that his/her sense of respectability does not get hurt. Accordingly, provisions are there in Course 1.2.3 () regarding range of cognitive capacities among learners, implicit understanding of the nature and kinds of learning, etc. P06 Environment and Sustainability To ensure sustainable growth, without affecting the environment, student-teachers are acquainted with various aspects of population and environment education as envisaged in Course 1.4.11 (). The course is supposed to help student-teachers analyze the various issues related to population and environmental education. P07 Self-directed and Lifelong Learning To ensure self-directed and lifelong learning acquiring the skill of reading in is a must. In Course 1.1.1 EPC1 (Reading and Reflecting Text), student-teachers are acquainted with various methods of reading that they are supposed to insert the young minds. Assignments, Term Papers, Projects, related to each Course also nurture this aspect.
